- Werewolves up to 4 generations from a 'pure blood' (the Alpha?) can change form at will and are conscious during the change.

- 'Huggy Bear', who is mentioned by Dean sometimes, was a recurring character on 'Starsky & Hutch' so Dean may be a fan of old TV Cop shows as well as Clint Eastwood films!

- Brian refers to Dean and Sam as 'Starsky & Hutch', detectives from a 70's US police drama. The characters were partners and had an intense relationship - like brothers almost. They weren't averse to hugging either, which was unusual at that time!
- Michael refers tongue-in-cheek to The Boys as 'Rizzoli & Isles', a US show featuring two women, a detective and a medical examiner!

Benny is hunting the vampire who turned him for revenge as he was responsible for his death and that of his girlfriend, or so he believes. He is badly hurt and calls Dean for help. Dean leaves Sam and helps Benny to hunt the whole vampire nest but he ends up calling Sam for help and Sam meets Benny for the first time...
