Two-Hour Season Finale Set ... and Maybe a Season Seven?

Our favorite monster-hunting brothers, Sam and Dean Winchester, and their entire entourage are finally getting a little love from the CW.

According to John Kubicek, BuddyTV's self-appointed SPN supporter, the CW is already planning a two-hour season finale for Smallville (on May 13, 2011, which will also be the show's final episode). That night, Supernatural won't be on but will return with its final two hours, in a special season finale, a week later. You can read more about these season finales right here.

So, what does this mean for a possible season seven for our favorite show? Well, Kubicek makes a good case in this article for the fact that SPN (once Smallville is off the air) becomes the strongest show in the network's Friday night lineup and -- if renewed -- a great lead-in for a new show that the CW may want to slot on Friday nights.

All I can say is, J.K., I hope you are right!
