"Christianity : The belief that some cosmic Jewish Zombie can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him that you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree. Makes perfect sense." |

| Character Backstory | ||
When Giddy was 7, Sara Gideon, her mother and an archeologist who specialized in ancient Sumeria, came home from a Middle Eastern dig with a tablet covered in Sumerian script. It was a prophecy, only no one knew that at the time. A week later, Giddy and Michael Sauer, her father and a history professor at the University of Santa Barbara when he wasn't a hunter - though he hadn't told his wife and daughter that - came home to find the house a mess, Sara slaughtered and the tablet missing. Gideon spent the next ten years driving all over the country in the back of her father's van, along with their German Shepherd, Bo Jangles. Learning ancient languages from her mother's books, learning lore and myths from her father, learning to hunt and kill the things that went bump in the night. Learning that she comes from a long line of witch-hunters on her father's side. At one point, when she was 13, after her father landed a week stay in a hospital, she was scooped up by Social Services. Ending up in a mental facility taught her to keep her mouth closed about what she and her father did for a living. That was the first time she'd met the Winchesters (Cry Wolf). When Giddy turned eighteen, she called it quits and ended up in Las Vegas where she lost herself amidst the never-ending nightlife as an exotic dancer and stripper called Gigi. The money was good and paid not only for her bills, but occasionally helped bail her transient father out of a few messes during whatever hunt he happened to be pursuing. It was the first time in a long time that she'd stayed in one place for over a month. A week later, she came home early in the morning after a night of debauchery to find her apartment ransacked and her roommate brutally murdered. She packed her bags and took her German Shepherd puppy, Jenks, on the road the next day to find her father and hunt down the thing that has twice destroyed her life. Gigi Sawyer is still wanted in the state of Nevada as a person of interest in the murder case of Sandra Kelly.
| Associates & Companions | ||
Bred by champion competitor Thomas Sauerhoefer, Bo is not just a name passed down in this line of all-black shepherds, but a title; Begleiter Offensichtli, given to certain specialized dogs meant to be the constant companion of a very few, lucky hunters. Well trained to SchH3, the highest rating of Shutzhund, and with a killer instinct, this dog is the perfect hunting companion and Giddy wouldn't trade him for the world, even if they don't quite agree on music. She likes hard beats, and he has to listen to Mingus or he'll howl while she's trying to sleep.
Because of his historical background, he's known as the Librarian to other hunters, and it is to him they go whenever a creature needs identifying. No one is quite sure how he got his start in the supernatural, least of all Gideon, but it's rumored that he has ties to the Campbells, a family with a very old hunting tradition. Giddy even heard a story once that a hunt is how her father and mother met. The Librarian spends most, if not all of his time hunting down the creature that took the life of Sara, Gideon's mother. Part of an elusive organization known only as Manu Iusti, he is off the map for weeks at a time and often has odd tasks for Giddy to complete for him. And as much as Gideon would love to know what he's up to, Michael tells her that in due time, she will know everything.
As leader of the Grigori and an archangel, Remiel's duties don't stop just because he's abandoned the Mission of Heaven. Constantly being hunted by his other archangel siblings and hounded by the soldiers who still see him as their leader, Remy has to juggle his real status as a deserter from Heaven's armies against those ulterior motives that drive him now.
A specialist in any kind of Voodoo/Houdou, Beau helped teach her to fight without using guns and she taught him that running was about more than just getting away. Together, they found a love of parkour and free-running and would often, over the next several years, turn up during events to challenge each other. But always in a friendly you're-staking-the-next-vamp-if-I-win kind of way.
But what started out chaotic and rough in Roll with the Punches smoothed into a reluctant partnership so deep in Devil May Care that both have reservations about what it means. Bound by something neither of them fully understands, Gideon has a sinking feeling that they might be forever connected on a level neither are yet comfortable with. Now they must traverse the sticky web of a relationship while trying to figure out what they really mean to each other, and how it pertains to the rise of the old gods and the End Times.

Y'golonac is a Great Old One, a Chthonic god of perversion and depravity - not just "average" human perversions or depravities, but any that can be conceived of by a sapient being (sane or otherwise). His demeanor was much like a demon's, in that his true form is uncertain and that he must possess a human host in order to manifest. But unlike true demons, when he does manage to take a host, he appears as a grotesquely obese man, lacking a head or neck, with a mouth in the palm of each hand. "Beyond a gulf in the subterranean night a passage leads to a wall of massive bricks, and beyond the wall rises Y'golonac to be served by the tattered eyeless figures of the dark. Long has he slept beyond the wall, and those which crawl over the bricks scuttle across his body never knowing it to be Y'golonac; but when he comes forth to be worshiped or to feed and take on the shape and soul of those he feeds upon. For yet may Y'golonac return to walk among men..." Although his true aim was never revealed, Y'golonac claimed to be raising Gideon up to her true potential... whatever that may be. And his actions on that fateful night may have been the first Domino in a chain that set the rest of her life in motion.
Banished to the depths of Hell, Moloch was literally 'King' for over two thousand earth years, until a single yellow-eyed demon cracked a hole in Lucifer's cage. Knowing things were about to come down in a hand-basket, Moloch used his considerable abilities and influenced a young archeologist to take an innocuous stone tablet home with her, inadvertently freeing him. But it wasn't until the release of Lucifer and the beginning of the Apocalypse that Moloch knew things had gone all topsy-turvy. Topside and free, Moloch would love nothing more than to resume the practices of the old world and be worshiped by people willing to sacrifice their children to him. Nothing like innocent souls in the morning to perk you out of a bad mood.
| The Malbranche are a group of twelve demons whose duty was to guard the Eighth Circle of Hell; the one which led to Satan's Cage. Loyal Lieutenants of Moloch, they tend to turn up like cockroaches, and like cockroaches Gideon has a hard time getting them to stay dead. Ruby-eyed, every single one of them, they are not cross-roads demons but can, and often do, cause just as much if not more trouble with their violent antics, including tricking hapless victims out of their souls. Though they can be caught in an ordinary Devil Trap, at least for a time, they cannot simply be exorcised from their unwilling hosts. Each one has a special binding brand hidden in a different part of the body that must be broken before they can be exorcised. | ||
