While investigating a mysterious death in Chicago, Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) run into Meg (guest star Nicki Aycox), who is thrilled to see Sam again. The brothers soon discover Meg is behind the murders and attempt to catch her. Unfortunately, Meg is one step ahead of them and unleashes shadow spirits on the brothers to ambush them. Sam and Dean realize the trap isn't for them, but for their father (Jeffrey Dean Morgan).

- Landlady: Well, no offense, but your alarm's about as useful as boobs on a man.
- Meg: Guys, hiding is a little childish, don't you think?
- Sam: Did you get anything ... besides her number?
- Dean: Hey, Sam, don't take this the wrong way, but your girlfriend ... is a *****.

- Meg is thrown out of a window, but at the end of the episode, we see her up and about. When will she turn up next?
- Where will John go next?
- When will the boys see their father again?
- Meg has some larger purpose she is fulfilling.
- John feels the need to hunt for whatever killed Mary on his own. He wants the boys to stay far away from him, both for their protections, and for his own (as they are his weakness).
- John drives a 1986 GMC Sierra Grande, registration number CSG 8R3.
- 1435 West Geary is the address of the warehouse.
- Vue - "Pictures of Me"
- Little Charlie and the Nightcats - "You Got Your Hooks in Me"
- X - "The New World"
- When Sam runs into Meg at the bar, she mentions being in California and meeting "what's-his-name, something Michael Murray." This is a reference to Chad Michael Murray, with whom Jared Padalecki's character on Gilmore Girls was a rival love interest for Rory Gilmore's affections. They also worked together on House of Wax.
Get the hell out of Hell House! Sam and Dean defy a homicidal spirit, but their efforts are encumbered by a pair of goofball paranormal investigators who hope ghost busting gets them girls.
