- Sam and Dean both have recurring dreams about their parents.
- Sam finally tells Dean about being infected at the hospital and praying to God. Yay, Sam! And Dean does not give him a verbal beat-down for it (though he is obviously not happy about it).
- In spite of aconversation about thepossibility of Sam and Dean still wanting "more" out of life, in the end, Sam seems to have made peace with the fact that the Impala is, in fact, their home.
- Sam now chooses to keep smoothies in the green cooler instead of beer for himself.
- Dean hates valet parking.
- Dean knows more about the Bible than we knew (he tells Sam the "God helps those who help themselves" quote is not from the Bible).

- After this episode, only one window in the Impala remained intact (though bloody).
- The fight scene with the deputy at the site of the staged crime scene, was actually filmed at the spot where they have kept the old Impala that was destroyed by thesemi truck accident in the season 1 finale. Jensen found it and posted this incredible photo of him sitting in the wreck of that Impala which had been resting in the woods for over a decade.

- The green Coleman cooler that Sam and Dean have had almost since the beginning has a starring role in this episode.
