NAME: Samuel Campbell

BIOGRAPHY: Samuel Campbell is the father of Mary Winchester, Sam and Dean's mother. He appears first in the Season 4 episode "In The Beginning" when Dean traveled back in time with the aid of Castiel. Dean met Samuel after spying on Mary at a diner and Mary kicked his ass. Samuel was investigating a sighting of the yellow-eyed demon, Azazel, at a farm house. Azazel later possessed Samuel and stabbed him fatally before vacating the body. Samuel has returned beginning in the Season 6 episode "Exile on Main Street" without an explanation of his resurrection beyond the rather cryptic assumption that whatever force elevated Sam from Hell dragged Samuel back from Heaven. Samuel introduced first Sam, and eventually Dean, to several cousins, other Campbells who are in the Hunting life. |

NAME: Deanna Campbell

BIOGRAPHY: Dean meets Deanna when Castiel sends him back to 1973 to try and stop Azazel from interfering with his family. Deanna takes her husband's anti-social tendencies in stride, and invites Dean, a stranger, to dinner in spite of Samuel's gruff dismissal of him. When Azazel possesses Samuel to suss out Dean, Deanna hides nearby, watching. She tries to reach the Colt when Azazel stabs Samuel in the stomach, but Azazel snaps her neck, killing her before she can use it. Deanna's resurrection is not on the table when Azazelmakes his deal with young Mary. |

BIOGRAPHY: Gwen Campbell is a hunter, and a third cousin related to Sam and Dean's mother Mary's side of the family. She follows the lead of Samuel Campbell while hunting, but does not seem to be fully aware of his conduct. |

NAME: Christian Campbell

BIOGRAPHY: Christian Campbell is a hunter, and a third cousin related to Sam and Dean's mother Mary's side of the family. It is revealed in 6.07 Family Matters that he has been possessed by a demon for some time, and because his neck was snapped by the Alpha Vampire, it is likely that he is dead though his body is still possessed. He is later released from his possession in 6.10 Caged Heat when Dean stabs him with Ruby's Knife, killing both him and the demon. |

BIOGRAPHY: Johnny Campbell is a hunter, and related to Sam and Dean's mother Mary's side of the family. When Dean is attacked by a Djinn, Sam rescues him and reveals he has been back from Hell for a year and hunting with cousins Gwen Campbell, Christian Campbell, Mark Campbell and grandfather Samuel Campbell. Johnny is sent to watch over Lisa and Dean, but is killed by the Djinn. |
