THEN: An angel named Castiel brought Dean out of Hell, adding yet another handsome face to the world of Supernatural.

NOW: Dean's sitting on the dock of the bay, just fishing. Castiel pops by to let him know this is a dream and that they have something important to discuss. But Dean's head isn't a safe place, so Cas tells Dean to meet him at a special location.

Dean wakes up and goes with Sam, but the location looks more like a war zone. They find Cas and wake him up, but he's no angel. Castiel has left the building and now it's Jimmy. Symbols on the wall suggest an all-out angel battle royale, but all Jimmy remembers is a bright light and then he was him again.

The Rapture - Supernatural WikiJimmy doesn't remember why Cas wanted to talk to Dean, so now the brothers are stuck babysitting an odd dude who used to be an angel. Jimmy eats about three tons of food before telling his story. One year ago he was a simple, pious man in Illinois with a wife and kid. One night he fell asleep in front of the TV and it suddenly released a piercing noise that drove Jimmy crazy.

Dean wants to send Jimmy back to his family, but Sam thinks differently. Since they don't know what happened, what Castiel wanted to tell them and who or what tried to kill him, Sam doesn't want to let Jimmy out of their sights. But Jimmy has other plans.

That night, Dean's sleeping and Jimmy makes his break. Sam doesn't stop him because he's off on his own, jonesing for a demon blood fix. Sam is in a pretty bad place, taking a flask of demon blood and drinking up a few drops.

Cas Flashback #2: Jimmy seems to have gone crazy, sticking his entire arm into a pot of boiling water. His wife shows up and freaks out, but he assures her that Castiel told him to do it. Granted I'm not a particularly religious guy, but I'm not sure I'd stick my arm into a pot of boiling water if the voices inside my head told me to do it.

Sam and Dean hit the road to track down Jimmy. They're shocked when Anna pops up out of nowhere in the backseat of the Impala (a location she's intimately familiar with, as you recall). She criticizes the two for losing Jimmy, explaining that Castiel was called back to Heaven because the higher-ups didn't approve of his recent activities.

Cas Flashback #3: Jimmy still thinks the angel named Castiel inside his head is a sign from God and that it's the most important thing in his entire life. His wife isn't too pleased with this information, so she demands that he either take his crazy pills or she'll leave him.

Jimmy seeks out advice from above and Castiel offers him a solution. Jimmy only cares that his family is safe, so he agrees and Castiel inhabits his body. Jimmy's daughter walks outside and calls out to her daddy, but Cas looks back and says, "I'm not your father."

Back in the present, Jimmy is back to his house and goes in to see his family. He tells his wife that he spent the last year in a psychiatric institution. Way to turn your back on God. His wife believes him and accepts him back, sitting down for a nice family dinner.

Jimmy's old buddy Roger stops by, but when the two men are alone, Roger tells him that he's going to kill his daughter, forcing Jimmy to pummel the demon possessing his old best friend..

Jimmy locks them in a closet and tries salting the entrance, but his wife now thinks he's back to being crazy. They rush out and Roger takes Jimmy's daughter and prepares to kill her. Luckily Sam and Dean show up just in time, but now there are two demons with Roger's wife joining the party.

Sam tries his best to rid the woman of the demon, but his special powers aren't working. He's been rendered impotent by demon blood withdrawal, and if you don't get the metaphor, you're not looking hard enough.

Jimmy and his family are rescued, but Jimmy realizes that he needs to go with Sam and Dean and keep his family safe by making them hide. Unfortunately, a demon possesses Jimmy's wife and has other plans. She calls him up and demands he come back or she'll kill Jimmy's daughter.

They arrive at the meeting place and Jimmy goes outside to yell up at Castiel that he was promised his family would be safe. Jimmy goes inside and is taken by his demon wife, who also snatched up the Winchesters. Then Demon Wife shoots Jimmy in the stomach and orders her minions to kill the daughter. And that's when things get crazy.

Castiel makes his return, only this time it's in Jimmy's daughter's body. Little Girl Cas immediately starts killing demons and kicking ass. I guess her awesomeness helps offset the creepiness of Lilith. During the melee, Sam takes one of the demons, cuts her open, and starts drinking the demon blood to get his fix. The rest of the action stops as Dean and Little Girl Cas just stare at the disturbing image of Sam feeding on a demon.

Luckily, however, this newfound demon blood energizes him enough to kill the demon inside Jimmy's wife without injuring her. It's a lot like when people claim that they drive better when they're drunk. Dean is all-around disgusted.

Little Girl Cas looks in on the dying Jimmy, who demands that Castiel not ruin his daughter's life. He begs for Castiel to re-enter his body, but he's warned that this time it would be permanent and he'd never get to be Jimmy again.

He's OK with it, because he's willing to sacrifice his own life to protect his daughter from the pain of being an angel's vessel. He's a much better parent than Eloise Hawking, that's for damn sure.

With Cas back in his proper vessel, Dean asks what was so important that he wanted to tell him. Cas, however, refuses, stating that when he was called back to Heaven, he learned his lesson and is now back on the righteous path, obeying Heaven and not man.

On the road trip away, Sam knows that Dean is just dying to ream him out for the demon blood incident, but Dean assures him he doesn't care. They get a call from Uncle Bobby who demands those two idjits get to his place because the apocalypse is on its way. When they arrive, they lead Sam into the panic room and lock him inside. The emergency is an intervention.
