Dean has an acknowledged child. It’s not a happy one!

I like this episode a lot. Interesting lore and case, great guest actors/characters, emotional brother moments. Well rounded episode.

That column in the guys loft at the beginning would make me CRAZY. HAHAHA.

          REALLY gorey start!

The bar is SO DOUCHEY! I always doubted that Dean would have chosen THAT bar, unless there was some kinda need because maybe all victims we frequenting it or bars like it. And we only find out that connection later.

It’s all a little too coincidental for me but maybe it was the closest to their motel?

I do enjoy that Dean plays it straight here when flirting. I mean, sure, he’s lying through his teeth about the job, but he isn’t laying it on too thick. She is definitely coming on strong, but he takes it without playing it down or questioning her motives. I always feel that Dean tends to think himself less of a match for “sophisticated” women, but here he just seems to enjoy her taking charge and essentially using him for a no-strings attached fun time.

The edit work between the murder and sex scene is well done, but it really takes all sexiness out of the ladder. LOL.

BAH, the police leave the apartment door wide open and allow the neighbor/friend to get a good look at the crime scene? And the Sam explains “I’m sorry, but Jerry was killed sometime last night.” Yeah, DUH, he’s lying RIGHT THERE behind Sam. LOL

I love how Sam is making fun of Dean in this episode. A lot of amused facial expressions and little remarks, some exasperation, but not in a mean  or demeaning way, it seems more accepting of Dean’s “needs”.

The birthing scene is creepy and chilling as hell! SO emotionless.

I LOVE the scenes with the professor!! That actor was the main villain on Buffy’s Season 3 and one of my all-time favorites.

The way the professor is totally throwing the Guys for a loop in the beginning with his question about being paid, is hilarious. And later throwing in that his housekeeper needs a green card when they sternly remind him that there is a deadline for the research. The confused  and then annoyed looks between Sam and Dean are priceless – you can so clearly read the “can you believe this guy?” and “wasn’t there a better choice for help?” on their faces. I wondered at first if Dean looked at Sam for help because he didn’t understand the word “remuneration”?

I also really like how they weave moments into the episode on how the brothers are or are not dealing with missing Bobby! Dean seems to find it impossible not to wallow a little bit in the fact that they have no one to call for help and Sam is pushing forward and seems to believe that they CAN do it on their own when they have to. Both the scene in the college and later in the motel room where Dean suggests that Bobby is haunting them are a sharp reminder of what they lost and how differently they seem to be coping with it. And the end scene in the car is heart-breaking because Sam seems to be thinking that Dean doesn’t care what happens to him next and he’s worried and probably scared to lose Dean, too. He’s essentially asking Dean not to leave him. UGH. Of course, Dean is right that Sam isn’t dealing with the loss of Bobby properly either. Just distracting himself with work.

The coroner guy is really switched on and helpful, compared to others they’ve encountered. I like that character has been given a little more of a support role than just a passing visit to the morgue.

LOVE the shot where Dean drives away from Lydia’s house and we can see his face in the side mirror.

Do all of these of Bobby’s boxed fit in the stolen car? HAHA.

The motel room is DISGUSTING. I know they are hiding from the Leviathan, but SHUDDER! I think I rather would use abandon houses. At least there isn’t skeevy guests cycling through. Shudder.

I’m happy that Sam figures out quickly that Dean DID tell the truth about the weird baby, however, I find it odd that he didn’t connect the dots ALL the way immediately to it being Dean’s. And when he does the first thing that pops into this head is that Dean wasn’t careful?

Dean’s face when he tries to figure out if an “accident” might have happened during his, obviously VERY FUN, time with Lydia is THE BEST! Jensen’s non-verbal acting will never stop to delight me.

The college façade is the same from Tall Tales, right? It looks like it.

LOVE Sam’s quick thinking in getting the professor to assist by saying “I sweeten the deal. We’ll remove the wire tap.” HAHAHA. And the prof looking appropriately horrified. Of course, now I want to know what he has to hide!

The scene between Dean and Emma is really good. The girl is a good actor. It’s easy to believe at first that Dean is falling for the ruse. OK, the girl makes a good argument! And, of course, Dean would be feeling responsible and guilty. I very much got the feeling Dean would not be able to kill Emma, the way he argued with her and tried to get her to see another way.

I’m still not sure if Dean WOULD have killed her, but it was a good, yet BRUTAL way to bring the whole Amy conundrum of “you killed a person who was (somewhat) important to me” “because you couldn’t” back around.
