- Will Sam ever find out what Dean did when he thought he was dead?

- Corbin hadn't turned yet when he thought he'd murdered Sam, so he was human at the time.

- When Sam was shot at the beginning of the episode, the wound seemed to be on the left side of his chest, near the 5th button on his shirt. But later, we see that the wound is in his abdomen.
- The bunker's library still has ashtrays on the tables, despite the fact that neither Winchester smokes.
- Dean's mini-tantrum with the tree was improvised.
- The name of the medical facility in this episode was "Cottonwood Urgent Care".
- Toby Levins, who played the sheriff in this episode, also played the hunter "Mackie" in "The Born Again Identity" (season 7).

- "Barbital" is a common suffix for drugs in the barbiturate class of sedatives (such as pentobarbital).
- "Naloxone" is an injectable antidote for opioid overdose, but it would not reverse the effects of a barbiturate overdose.
