| FELICIA DAY RETURNS AS CHARLIE/SAM, DEAN AND CHARLIE MEET DOROTHY FROM OZ — Sam and Dean discover that the table in the Men of Letters house (the one that lit up like a Christmas Tree when the angels fell), has an ancient computer attached to it. They figure if they can get the computer on, they can track the angels. Who better to call for help than the best IT girl there is, Charlie? While moving the massive computer, they dislodge a hidden hexbag that unleashes a magical green-webbed wall. Sam and Dean break through it and discover the one and only Dorothy from Oz. She had trapped herself and the wicked witch in the web years ago to stop the witch from finding the key that would open the gate that connected their world with Oz. With the wall broken, a massive and magical fight ensues that threatens to destroy the Men of Letters house. |

- Dean - "Think she'll be back?
Sam - "Of course. There's no place like home.”

- This is the first time we’ve seen the mainframe computer room at the bunker, and the first time it’s been confirmed that the bunker’s operations are computerized
- The phone extension at the bunker is #765. At least it was in the 1950s
- Charlie uses a tablet computer, which would probably not have had the storage capacity to download all the information implied in this episode
- Apparently, Becky Rosen (Sam's super-fan) uploaded all the Supernatural books and some unpublished works to the internet
- Dorothy’s case with the witch was the very first case investigated at the Lebanon, Kansas bunker
- Charlie is wearing a Sonmi-451 tee shirt. Sonmi 451 is a fictional character from David Mitchell's 2004 novel Cloud Atlas

- Dean said, "So, I, uh, picked you up season one Game of Thrones." - This refers to the fantasy novels by George R.R. Martin and the HBO TV series Game of Thrones (2011) based on the book series. (starting in 2011).
- Crowley said, "Neither of you saw Wicked?" referring to the 2003 Broadway musical, based on the novel "Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West" by Gregory Maguire. The musical was nominated for ten Tonys in 2004 and won three of them.
- Charlie said, "Was that your Batman voice?" - This refers to the most recent Batman trilogy of movies, starting with "Batman Begins" (2005). Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) speaks with a distinctively lower and raspier voice when speaking as Batman in these films.
- Charlie found out that the company she was working for was outsourcing and using child labor, so she says she took a “wikileak” on her employer, which implies that she became a whistleblower to expose wrongdoing
- When Charlie sees the mainframe computer at the bunker, she exclaims "Sweet Ada Lovelace", referringto a 19th century British mathematician
- Charlie says she was raised on Tolkien, referring to J.R.R .Tolkien (1892 - 1973), the author of the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings fantasy novels

- "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" - by Harold Arlen and Yip Harburg (Crowley whistles the tune when Dean and Sam question him about the witch)
