| CASTIEL IS HUNTED BY THE ANGELS — Ezekiel tells Dean a group of angels is hunting Castiel. Dean and Sam race to find their friend before the angels do. Meanwhile, a homeless Castiel is trying to make his way through the city and comes across some unexpected surprises. |

- Artine Brown, the actor who played Maurice the reaper, also played a security guard in "Lucifer Rising" (season 4)

- Castiel is using the alias “Clarence”. Meg used to call him that. It also refers to a character (Clarence Odbody) from the 1946 film"It's A Wonderful Life". In the film, Clarence is a guardian angel who shows the main character -- a suicidal man -- how his life has touched others and how much worse the world would be if he'd never been born
- Sam compared the angels to body snatchers, alluding to the science fiction film "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" (1956; remake 1978) about aliens who come to earth and take human bodies as hosts
- Detroit is known as the "Motor City" because of its historic importance as the center of the American automobile industry
- Cher, the popular actress, vocalist and stage performer, was mentioned as a famous person who only uses one name. Cher's full name is Cherilyn Sarkesian
- Dean said Maurice and the other bounty hunters are like "Delta Force", referring to the elite, special operations unit of the US Army
