When the Winchesters accompany Jody Mills to the funeral of another hunter, everyone involved learns something about people they thought they knew. |
- Dean: YOU'RE A BAD ASS SHERIFF CHICK, NOT A ROM-COM CHICK. WAIT, ARE YOU A ROM-COM CHICK?
Jody: ARE YOU?
Sam: HE'S MORE OF AN ANIMATED JAPANESE EROTICA CHICK. - Dean: NO LABEL. WELL THAT'S A RED FLAG.
- Sam: DOES THIS MEAN YOU'RE COMING HOME?
Mary: YEAH. NOT QUITE YET. I JUST NEED A LITLE MORE TIME.
Dean: CAN WE BUY YOU BREAKFAST AT LEAST?
Mary: BACON?
Dean: ALL THE BACON.
Mary: I WOULD LOVE THAT.

- Dean owes Billie a favor now. What will she want?
- What's really stopping Mary from wanting to be with her boys? And what does she need "more time" to do? What's she up to?
- Mary did not stop hunting after she got married and had Dean
- Dean and Sam are apparently legendary heroes among hunters -- and they didn't already know that
- Dean still believes that he and Sam will die hunting; Sam seems to believe otherwise
- Hell is in chaos with Lucifer and Crowley both being absent
- Mary saved Asa's life in Emerson, Manitoba in 1980; Dean would have been 1 year old at the time
- Although Supernatural is filmed in Canada, the only other episode that takes place in Canada is "The French Mistake"

- Before Dean and Sam stopped in to see Jody, they had just finished working a job in Brookings, South Dakota, which is about an hour away from Sioux Falls, where Jody lives
- Jody was correct. Emerson, Manitoba is about a 5 1/2 hour drive from Sioux Falls, South Dakota
- "Netflix" is an internet-based, on-demand video service
- A "chick flick" is a movie that primarily appeals to women; many of these films deal with romantic subject matter
- "Rom com" is short for "romantic comedy" -- a type of chick flick
- Dean has been known to watch animated Japanese erotica, which he refers to as "Asian cartoon porn"
- When Asa met Jody, his FBI alias was agent Fox Mulder; Agent Mulder was a fictional character from the sci-fi series "The X-Files"
- Bucky tells the other hunters that he and Asa worked a job in "Yellowknife"; Yellowknife is a city in Canada's Northwest Territories
- "Yellowknives" also refers to a group of First Nations people; original inhabitants of Canada's Northwest Territories
- When Dean is trying to break down the door to get into the house, Billie tells him that he can "huff and puff" but won't be able to break down the door; this is a reference to the Big Bad Wolf from the Brothers' Grimm fairy tale "The Three Little Pigs"
- "Roll on Down the Highway" -- Bachman Turner Overdrive (plays during the montage as Asa is growing up.
- "Man in the Box" -- Alice in Chains (plays when Jody and the Winchesters arrive at the wake)
