King of the Damned

• What is happening to Dean with the Mark of Cain? His ferocity as he killed Abaddon was so out of character!
• Can Gadreel and Castiel trust each other? Should they?
• Will Crowley's keeping his son alive in the present cause problems with the timeline?
• Now that Abaddon is dead, will Crowley be able to reclaim his throne? It seems that some of his demon followers have turned against him and may not readily fall back in line
• How will Gavin survive on his own, with limited skills in a world that’s almost 300 years into the future?

• Metatron has a private portal into heaven that he moves around to keep it secret
• Now that Dean has wielded the Blade a few times, he seems reluctant to be separated from it
• Dean has telekinetic abilities, at least as far as the First Blade is concerned!
• Dean is able to withstand Abaddon's power to keep him immobile and attack her.
• Dean's strength seems to be matched only by his ferocity when he's fighting demons!

• Abaddon found Gavin in Leith, Scotland. In Weekend at Bobby's (season 6), we learned that Gavin's father (Fergus MacLeod/Crowley) was born about 280 miles away, in Canisbay, Scotland
• In Weekend at Bobby's we learned that Gavin captained a vessel that was headed to the New World in 1723, but he died when that vessel sank. In the current episode, Gavin said he was planning to "work his way" across the Atlantic to the New World, so it sounds like he was going to be a passenger or possibly in the crew, but it doesn't sound like he was the ship's captain
• Crowley learned about Poughkeepsie in “Road Trip” when Dean told him it was the Winchesters’ code word for “Drop everything and run”
• Crowley named one of his pet hellhounds Juliet
• Gordon Michael Woolvett, who plays Ezra in this episode, played a deputy in "Frontierland"(season 6)

• The episode's title may refer to the 1935 drama "King of the Damned" about an inmate revolt on a prison island. In this episode, perhaps Crowley is the King of the Damned, because his inner circle of demons secretly revolted against him and took Abaddon's side. Of course, the title may also refer to Dean, whose actions under the influence of the Mark and Blade may imply that he's headed for damnation and perhaps betrayal
• When taunting Ezra, Dean mentions "Bieber and Beckham", referring to pop singer Justin Bieber and soccer player David Beckham

• "You, Me, and a Bottle of Whiskey" - by The Temporary Thing" (plays when the angels are talking at a bar)
• "Rondo alla Turca- Allegretto from Piano Sonata No. 11 in A Major" - by W.A. Mozart (plays in the hotel suite when Crowley gets a phone call from Dean)
