- The Darkness (Amara) is god's sister.
- Amara attacked Crowley to protect Dean; and Dean was unable to kill Amara, although he clearly wanted to. This may prove that the two of them are "bound" and will always help each other, as Amara has said.
- According to Metatron, in order for god to create the world, he had to betray and sacrifice his sister.
- Sam is having more visions of being back inside the cage. He had a vision of being tortured when he was at the hospital in "Form and Void".
- Crowley's lair on Earth is Needham Asylum -- an abandoned asylum in Fall River, Massachusetts.
- Metatron hid the demon tablet under his mattress, which made it easy for Castiel to find. Now, Castiel has the demon tablet.

- While recovering from Rowena's attack dog spell, Castiel is binge watching television, including Jenny Jones and reality television shows.
- The flowered wallpaper in the motel room where the Winchesters are interrogating the demon is the same wallpaper from "Changing Channels" (season 5). The starburst wall clock has also been seen in several episodes.
- While she's grounded and confined to her room, Amara watches memes on her computer.
- Metatron wears a baseball cap that says "Marv Corp". At one point, he told the humans he met that they could call him Marv.
- According to Metatron, Castiel worked at the Gas-n-Sip for about 1 month when he lost his grace.

- The "Summer of Love" was a gathering of hippies in San Francisco in the 1960s.
