- WAIT A MINUTE, I KNOW WHAT THIS IS. THIS HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH YOUR FREAKY FETISH FOR SERIAL
KILLERS.- Dean to Sam on why he wants to check into this case. - IT'S NOT A FETISH.- Sam to Dean, denying it.
- I DON'T KNOW WHERE TO PUT MY EYES. I THINK I'M GONNA THROW UP.- Dean commenting on the many different
patterns of the wallpaper and curtains and bedspread in the bed and breakfast room. - WE'RE SURROUNDED BY DOILIES. THEY'RE EVERYWHERE. - Sam commenting on the room decor.
- I DON'T KNOW. WHY DON'T WE SHERLOCK THAT OVER A BEER AND A LOBSTER ROLL, OKAY? I HAVE TO GET OUT OF THIS DOILIE COFFIN.- Dean to Sam on discussing how a killer could have entered and left the Borden house unnoticed.
- THERE IS NO SENSITIVE WAY TO TELL SOMEONE THAT THEIR SOUL'S BEEN SUCKED OUT BY SOME PREHISTORIC
TWEEN.- Sam to Dean arguing that he doesn't want to tell Len that he's lost his soul.

- How many other soulless people are out there now because of Amara?
- How can Amara be stopped?

- Considering the fact that Amara can't drive and is not wearing shoes, she still managed to get from Crowley's lair to Fall River,Massachusetts.
- Not every soulless person behaves the same way, and not all of them give in to evil.

- The exterior of the Borden house in this episode looks nothing like the actual Lizzie Borden house. But the sweatshirt Dean looks at in the gift shop depicts the actual house.
- Soulless people can't "feel", but Len seems able to. Once he learns his soul is missing, he even says that it "feels good" to finally know the truth.
- "Molly's Hatchet Room" is the name of the bar where Amara and Sydney met in the parking lot. "Molly Hatchet" is also the name of a rock band.
- "Thin Lizzy" is the name of a rock band. One of their most famous songs "The Boys are Back in Town" is heard in "Book of the Damned" (season 10).
- Sam is correct. Opossums are marsupials, not rodents.

- "The Shining" is a novel about a haunted hotel. It was written by Steven King and made into a movie.
- Castiel has been binge-watching "The Wire" -- an HBO series that ran for 5 seasons. Castiel is on season 2.
- "Casper" is a friendly ghost from comic books and cartoons.
- "The Purge" was a 2013 alternate-reality movie in which, for a period of 12 hours, all crimes are temporarily legal.
