- So, is Sheriff Donna officially a hunter now?
- Will confronting yet another killer clown make Sam's phobia better or worse?
- What do Sam's visions really mean? And are they coming from god?
- Castiel apparently went to Gaza and dug up pre-biblical lore, looking for information about the Darkness.
- Sam told Dean about his visions of returning to Lucifer's cage.
- If the rabbit-head guy was possessed by a ghost, shouldn't the ghost have been ejected from his body when he tried to pull Dean through the bars of the jail cell? (Unless the bars were made of some other metal besides iron?)
- When the jester got shot in the chest by rock salt, she didn't seem to be in any pain; but that should've hurt, right?
- This is the second time we've seen Sam get attacked by killer clowns. The first time was in season 8 "Plucky Pennywhistle's Magical*Menagerie".
- This episode takes place in Cottage Grove, Minnesota. Sheriff Donna's normal location is in Stillwater, Minnesota, which is just over 20 miles away.
- According to the Urban Dictionary, a "wild hair" is a sudden or unexpected decision.
- Dean and Sam introduce themselves as Agents Elliott and Savage. Joe Elliott and Rick Savage are members of the band Def Leppard.
- "Waskily wabbit" is a term used by Elmer Fudd to describe Bugs Bunny. Both are animated characters from the Looney Tunes cartoons. Elmer has a significant speech impediment.
- "What's up doc?" is also from the Looney Tunes cartoons. Bugs Bunny is known for asking that question.
- Dean asked the suspect if he'd dropped too much "Molly". "Molly" is slang for the drug MDMA (ecstasy).
- "CrossFit" is a popular fitness program.
- Brock's coach told him to "lay off the HGH." HGH is human growth hormone, and is thought to improve muscle strength and athletic performance.
- "Hell to Pay" -- by Five Finger Death Punch (plays while Brock is lifting weights)
